Recommended particle sizes for various mortar thicknesses: Up to 2 mm thick: 0-0.5 mm 2 – 5 mm: 0-1.0 mm 5 – 15 mm: 0-3.5 mm Over 15 mm: 0-7.0 mm Over 35 mm: 0-20 mm Application Information Consumption: For general repairs, dilute with 1 to 2.5 parts water. For bonding applications, use undiluted or dilute in a 1:1 ratio with water. Approximate Consumption: For 1:1 dilution: 2.3 kg/m² per cm thickness For 1:2 dilution: 1.4 kg/m² per cm thickness For 1:3 dilution: 1.1 kg/m² per cm thickness For 1:4 dilution: 0.9 kg/m² per cm thickness Application Instructions Surface Preparation: Ensure concrete surfaces are clean, sound, and free from contaminants such as oil, grease, and loose particles. Absorbent surfaces should be saturated to a surface-saturated dry (SSD) condition. Application Method: Sika Bond®-LA is typically added to clean mixing water at ratios between 1:1 and 1:2.5. For most applications, apply a bonding coat of Sika Bond®-LA (1:1 ratio with water) mixed with fresh cement onto prepared surfaces. Apply mortar while the bonding coat is still wet. If needed, apply additional Sika Bond®-LA solution. Important Considerations Ensure mortar and concrete renderings are allowed to cure properly. Protect the applied material from heat and frost during the curing process. Avoid excessive air entrapment by not over-mixing. Always add cement and sand when using Sika Bond®-LA as a bonding agent, never just use the emulsion and water. Minimum application temperature: 5°C
