Description SIKAMENT 90 is a versatile, ready-to-use brown liquid admixture. It is specifically designed to function as both: A water-reducing plasticiser A superplasticiser This dual functionality eliminates the need for two separate products. General Characteristics SIKAMENT 90 enhances the hydration of cement particles and improves the flow of fresh concrete due to its strong dispersing effect. As a water-reducing admixture, it helps achieve high mechanical strength while maintaining good concrete cohesion. When used in higher amounts, it acts as a superplasticiser, significantly improving concrete workability and maintaining rheology over time. This is particularly important for ready-mixed concrete with a low water-to-cement (W/C) ratio. Applications SIKAMENT 90 MF is ideal for: Ready-mixed concrete (RMC), where it can replace both a plasticiser and a superplasticiser by adjusting its dosage. It greatly reduces water content while ensuring good mechanical strength and maintaining workability for over an hour. On-site applications where workability must be sustained, such as long-distance pumping or concrete pouring in hot weather. Storage and Shelf Life SIKAMENT 90 MF can freeze. If it undergoes extended or intense freezing, its properties can be restored by slowly thawing and re-homogenising under agitation. The product has a shelf life of three years. Recommended Usage As a water-reducing plasticiser: 0.3% to 0.6% of cement weight As a superplasticiser: 0.7% to 2% of cement weight Directions for Use As a water-reducing plasticiser: Add SIKAMENT 90 MF to the mixing water before introducing it to the mixer. As a superplasticiser: For best results, add SIKAMENT 90 MF directly to the mixer with wet concrete. It can also be added later in the truck mixer just before the concrete is used, with high-speed mixing for at least one minute per cubic meter of concrete.
