Description Description SikaGard®-6050 is a durable, thixotropic, bitumen-based coating known for its excellent rust-proofing and sound-deadening qualities, making it ideal for most underbody applications. It forms a tough, adhesive film that resists various climates and gravel impacts. By altering the spray technique, different textures can be achieved. It adheres well to various metals and PVC, but preliminary tests on actual substrates are recommended. This product is for professional, experienced users only. Chemical Resistance SikaGard®-6050 is resistant to water, seawater, salt spray, oil, and mild bases and acids. Method of Application Surface Preparation: Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of rust, dust, and grease. Application: Apply using light airless spray equipment or an air-mix pistol with air pressure of 3-6 bar. Shake the can well before use. Spray at room temperature from about 30 cm in an “X” motion to achieve a continuous coat. This viscous product can be applied in thick layers without dripping. For extra thickness, allow layers to dry in between. Removal: Uncured SikaGard®-6050 can be removed from tools with Sika® Remover-208. Once dry, mechanical removal is necessary. Clean hands and exposed skin with Sika® Handclean towels or an industrial hand cleaner and water. Avoid using solvents. Overpainting SikaGard®-6050 cannot be overpainted.
