MarineMaster Boat & Barge Primer Paint, an anti corrosive metal primer for iron and steel. The primer is based on alkyd resin and contains modified zinc phosphate and binding pigments. Rust forms when iron reacts with oxygen and water, it then creates a coating on the metal surface. When rust isn’t treated, the reaction (or oxidisation process) continues. This results in corrosion, which causes significant damage to metal (see HSE for more details). A quality primer like Carboxide Metal Primer paint will provide longer term protection against rust and corrosion.
