Description Uses Sikament RB 918 Admixture is suitable for: Ready-mix concrete operations. Projects requiring long-distance concrete transportation. Pumped concrete for vertical and horizontal applications. Mixes containing supplementary cementitious materials like granulated slag or pozzolans. Mass concrete pours. Hot weather concreting scenarios. Key Features & Advantages Reduces heat of hydration and minimizes thermal peaks. Maintains high workability over extended periods. Lowers pumping pressure during concrete placement. Enhances segregation resistance, even at high workability levels. Offers extended setting times with prolonged workability retention. Reduces water demand for a given level of workability. Improves ultimate compressive strengths. Decreases permeability for enhanced durability. Reduces shrinkage and creep. Simplifies concrete finishing processes. Reduces overall construction costs. Compliance Standards Sikament RB 918 Admixture meets the requirements of: ASTM C-494 (Types B, D, and G). EN 934-2: T11.1/11.2. IS 9103. Product Details Packaging: Available in 235 kg drums or bulk upon request. Shelf Life: 12 months when stored in unopened, original packaging under recommended conditions. Storage: Must be stored above 5°C. If frozen, thaw at temperatures above 5°C and gently agitate before use. Protect from direct sunlight and temperature extremes. Appearance/Color: Dark brown, free-flowing liquid. Specific Gravity: 1.1 ± 0.02 at 25°C. pH Value: > 6. Chloride Ion Content: < 0.2%. Compatibility Sikament RB 918 Admixture is compatible with various concrete admixtures, including normal, mid-range, and high-range water reducers, air entrainers, accelerators, retarders, and shrinkage reducers. It can also be used with supplementary materials like fly ash, silica fume, and slag. Dosage Guidelines Recommended dosage: 400–1200 ml per 100 kg of cementitious material. For high-performance concrete, dosages up to 1800 ml per 100 kg may be used after site trials. Effects of Overdosage: Significantly extended setting times. Increased air entrainment and potential for segregation. Higher plastic shrinkage. Proper compacting and curing may mitigate negative effects of minor overdoses and could result in higher strengths. Application Instructions Sikament RB 918 Admixture should be added to the mixing water or to damp concrete after 50–70% of the water has been incorporated. Direct addition to dry aggregates or cement is not recommended. Use automatic dispensers for accurate dosing. Additional Notes Workability retention with Sikament RB 918 Admixture exceeds 2 hours at 25°C. Workability may vary based on factors like temperature, cement type, and aggregate characteristics. Proper curing is essential, especially in hot, dry, or windy conditions.
