Product Information Composition: Sulfonated naphthalene Packaging: Available in 1000-liter flow bins, with bulk supply via tanker truck available on request Appearance / Colour: Dark brown liquid Shelf Life: 12 months from production if stored correctly Storage Conditions: Store in undamaged, unopened, original packaging in dry conditions between 5°C and 45°C. Protect from direct sunlight and frost. Density: ~1.24 kg/l at 25°C Chloride Ion Content: Nil (as per EN 934-2) Technical Information When using Sikament® R-4 QV CD Star, adhere to standard concreting practices and ensure proper curing, especially in high temperatures, to prevent shrinkage. Use Sika® Antisol® or wet hessian for curing. Application Information Recommended Dosage: Typically 0.6% to 2.8% by weight of binder. Higher dosages may be used based on mix design, raw materials, climate, and concrete requirements. Trial mixes should be performed to determine the optimal dosage. Compatibility: Sikament® R-4 QV CD Star is compatible with all types of Portland cement (OPC and SRC), and concrete containing pozzolanic materials such as GGBS, PFA, and micro-silica. It can also be used with the following Sika products: SikaPump® Sika® FerroGard®-901 SikaFume® SikaFiber® Sika Aer® Sika® Stabilizer Sika®-1 WT Sika® WT-10 Trial mixes are recommended when combining Sikament® R-4 QV CD Star with other Sika products or admixtures. Dispensing: Sikament® R-4 QV CD Star should be added to the gauging water or poured simultaneously with it into the concrete mixer at the batching plant. It should not be added directly to the dry mix. For optimal water reduction, ensure thorough mixing with a minimum wet mixing time of 60 seconds. Add the remaining gauging water after two-thirds of the mixing time to avoid excess water in the concrete.
