Description SikaPlast®-400 PK is a polycarboxylate-based superplasticizer, specifically designed for ready-mixed concrete. It provides extended slump retention and promotes high strength development in normal-grade concrete mixes. This product is also suitable for concrete mixes containing pozzolanic materials, including GGBS, PFA, and microsilica. It performs well in both hot and tropical climates. Appearance: Brown liquid Specific Gravity: 1.05 ( 25°C) Chloride Ion Content: Nil (EN 934-2) Technical Information Concreting Guidance: Standard good concreting practices must be followed during production and placement of concrete. Refer to relevant standards for best practices. Curing: Proper curing of fresh concrete is essential, especially in high temperatures, to avoid plastic and drying shrinkage. Use Sika® Antisol® products or wet hessian for curing. Application Guidelines Recommended Dosage: 0.8% to 1.6% by weight of binder. Depending on the mix design, raw materials, and climate conditions, dosages up to 2% by binder weight may be used. Trial mixes are recommended to determine the exact dosage. Dispensing: SikaPlast®-400 PK should be added to the gauging water or mixed simultaneously with it in the concrete mixer at the batching plant. Do not add directly to the dry mix. For best results, mix thoroughly for at least 60 seconds to ensure optimal water reduction. The remaining water (to adjust consistency) should be added only after two-thirds of the wet mixing time to prevent excess water in the concrete. Compatibility: SikaPlast®-400 PK is compatible with all types of Portland cement (OPC and SRC), as well as concrete mixes containing pozzolanic materials like GGBS, PFA, and microsilica.
