ADJUSTABLE ANKLE WEIGHTS – 5 Kg (max) Set of two anklets with adjustable weights (maximum 5 Kg each), that can be wrapped around each ankle for free-body exercises with progressive weight overload. The weight of the anklets, which are made of nylon, can be adjusted by inserting, in individual pockets with Velcro, 10 10 metal cylinders of 500 g each. A 5 cm high band, also with Velcro, facilitates adjustment and adherence to the leg, which, in the case of such heavy ankle weights, has to be optimal. To further improve the fit to the leg, the new model 2024, has increased inner padding and strap, compared to the previous model. The weight of 5 Kg per anklet is, in our opinion, the maximum achievable weight for this type of tool. Tests with higher loads have shown a poor fit of the prototypes due to the excessive dimensions of the tool when compared to the lower leg. 5 kg may appear to be a weight that is theoretically not too heavy, whereas, in reality, this weight overload is very high for most users. Jumps, sprints, lunges, crunches, and other bodyweight exercises and metabolic activities, if performed with 5 Kg of additional load on each ankle, prove to be challenging. This type of exercise should be adequately assessed before its execution. That is why we have chosen to make this model’s weight adjustable, so that the user can gradually adopt the appropriate weight load. Dimensions: 36 x 16 cm.
